iDEC® SBR Decanting System

Efficient Decanting for Optimal water quality

Designed to optimize the Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) process, the iDEC system sets a new standard in efficiency and reliability for decanting in wastewater treatment plants.

The iDEC SBR Decanting System offers superior performance through its innovative design, ensuring consistent and high-quality effluent discharge. Its robust construction and advanced technology reduce maintenance needs and operational costs while maximizing throughput. Perfectly suited for municipal and industrial applications, the iDEC system excels in handling varying influent conditions, making it an ideal choice for modern wastewater management.

Principle of Operation

The collector head of the iDEC® system ensures a constant inflow velocity through each opening along its length, reducing local inflow velocities and turbulence within the tank. This precise control prevents the suction of settled sludge from the sludge bed, ensuring a consistent discharge of clear water. Constructed entirely from high-quality stainless steel, the iDEC® SBR Decanting System promises durability and a long service life, making it a reliable and efficient solution for modern wastewater treatment. Here’s how it works:

Key Steps:

Influent Filling

Raw wastewater enters the SBR tank, filling it to a predetermined level. The influent is typically mixed with activated sludge from previous cycles.

React Phase

The mixed liquor undergoes biological treatment. Aeration and mixing promote microbial activity, reducing organic matter and nutrients.

Settling Phase

Aeration and mixing are stopped, allowing the solids to settle. The clear supernatant forms above the sludge layer.

Decanting Phase

The iDEC system initiates decanting. The decanter moves to the surface, carefully removing the clear supernatant without disturbing the settled sludge.

Sludge Wasting

Excess sludge is removed from the tank to maintain the desired biomass concentration.

Idle Phase

The tank remains idle, awaiting the start of the next cycle. This phase can also include a resting period for biological recovery.
