Inclined Plate Settlers

For Reliable Sedimentation

The MRI Inclined Plate Settler offers an efficient and reliable solution for sedimentation and solid-liquid separation in water treatment applications. Its operating principle, based on inclined plate technology, provides enhanced settling efficiency, high-quality effluent, and a compact design, making it an ideal choice for facilities seeking to optimize their treatment processes.

Here’s how our lamella clarifier works:

Principle of Operation

Key Steps:

Influent Distribution

  • Surface water enters through an influent distribution system designed to evenly distribute flow across the width of the settler.  – Influent typically contains suspended solids and particulate matter.

Settling Process with Inclined Plates

  • Surface water flows upwards between closely spaced, inclined plates (typically at a 60-degree angle).
  • Suspended solids settle onto the surfaces of the inclined plates due to gravity.
  • Solids slide down the inclined surfaces to the bottom of the settler, accumulating as sludge.

Sludge Collection and Removal

  • Settled sludge at the bottom is collected in a sludge hopper or sump.
  • Sludge is periodically removed through a sludge discharge system, including mechanical scrapers, pumps, or valves.

Effluent Discharge

  • Clarified water flows over a weir or trough at the top.
  • Effluent is then discharged for further treatment or final distribution, depending on application requirements.

Features and Benefits

Compact Design

Reduced footprint compared to conventional sedimentation tanks, making it ideal for treatment plants with limited space.

High Throughput

Allows for higher flow rates and greater treatment capacity, making it suitable for large-scale water treatment facilities

Energy Efficient

The gravity-driven settling process and minimal mechanical components result in low energy requirements, reducing operational costs.

Low Maintenance

With fewer moving parts and a simple design, the system requires minimal maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability and reduced downtime.

Versatile

The system can be customized to meet specific project requirements, providing flexible and effective solutions for different treatment needs.

Ease of Installation

The modular design of the inclined plate settler system allows for easy installation and integration into existing treatment processes.
